Since 2016 we have been paddling the Souadabscook in memory of Eliot Lamb, a whitewater enthusiast and avid canoeist.

Eliot was introduced to whitewater canoe racing through the MACKRO race series as a young teenager and later expanded his passion for river running when he became a registered Maine whitewater raft guide. He loved every aspect of the rivers he spent his time paddling. He could often be found canoeing local streams, kayaking in a sit-atop kayak and guiding rafts on the Kennebec and Dead Rivers. During the winter months he would often watch videos of paddlers tackling rivers from all over the world, itching for the rivers to thaw so he could paddle again.

Eliot was enthusiastic about his love and knowledge of the outdoors, and always eager to share it with others. As a Registered Maine Guide, he was passionate about getting children involved in outdoor recreation and activities while preserving them for future generations.  It is our hope to preserve Eliot's dreams, by offering a canoe and kayak race with course options for children, novice paddlers and whitewater enthusiasts of all backgrounds.
